Folding Bikes
The Moulton bicycle, introduced in 1962 was a revolutionary development on the classic bicycle. It quickly became another symbol of the swinging 60s alongside mini-skirts and mini cars.
Following its lead other manufacturers brought out their own versions of small wheeled cycles. Key aspects such as the rubber suspension of the Moulton were patented and so other manufacturers versions did not steer or handle as well.
They became popular for town use and were ideal for short distance riding. Some designs featured the ability for the bicycle to be folded small enough to be transported in a car or bus.
